Posted on April 1st, 2025 | Annie | Leave a comment For many years I have practised as a Kinesiologist and nutritionist and whenever I do an allergy test the foods that are the most problematic for the majority of us are genetically modified organisms GMO. Our bodies recognise them accurately as ‘alien’ as they are not natural foods from our planet. The most harmful is Monosodium glutamate abbreviated to (MSG). It is widely used in food within Asia and appears in most fast-food including Macdonald’s, Kentucky fried chicken, Burger King, Subway and many commercially produced foods in Chinese restaurants. It is incredibly dangerous and very cheap. It is not there for our benefits and is actually an excitotoxin which Dr Blaylock in her book ‘Excitotoxins: the taste that kills’ says MSG over excites your cells to the point of damage, acting as a poison. It used to be clearly stated on labels as either MSG, or flavour enhancer. Food manufacturers have become wise that the public is far more knowledgeable now than ever before. That many of us know that the only reason that this is enough food is because it has an addictive quality. Manufacturers of food want their customers to come back again and again so by adding this excitotoxin, that has the desired effect. The words that hide MSG in your food include modified maize starch, broth, casein, hydrolysed salts, autolysed salt and the simple term flavourings. This makes it far more difficult for us to avoid this health damaging substance. There is interesting research by Dr Mercola at Dr Mecola’s Health Blog who suggests another food that harms is aspartame which is another genetically modified organism which is highly addictive. It is typically found in all diet drinks, carbonated drinks, squashes, fruit juices, yoghurts and desserts. Sadly, misguided weight watching men and women when they join Slimming World, they are told that this is a good way of them reducing weight by using aspartame loaded drinks. However, nothing could be further from the truth in several studies it has been shown that it promotes weight gain and is linked to a higher risk of diabetes, headaches, vision problems, high blood pressure, arthritic type pain in the joints and heart disease. Again, the reason that this is added is because of its addictive quality. It is included as an ingredient to help the company to make more sales. It is not for the consumer’s benefit. There are many good quality makes that don’t include aspartame. For instance, Rock makes a variety of squashes that are tasty and Fever Tree make sparkling healthy drinks. I am particular fund of fever trees tonic water with all of the taste and none of the side-effects of aspartame drinks. For further information take a look at page aspartame.mercola.com .Part of the reason that so many of us have low tolerances and full-blown allergies to gluten and wheat has very little to do with the wheat itself. It is more to do with its history of being genetically modified and the crops being sprayed with glycophosphates. That is what our bodies are really objecting to. See my book Orgasmic Health for more information on this. Available from www.heavenscentbliss.co.uk This is a huge problem for many people especially those suffering from chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS), coeliac’s and those who are sensitive to GMOs and glycophosphates. A solution for some coeliac’s and people who enjoy bread, cakes, biscuits is to buy French organic wheat imported to the UK and them for instance making your own bread, cakes and biscuits with it. It is not a solution for everybody, however there is far less gluten in buckwheat or rye and these are rarely genetically modified. Foods that heal are usually organic, free range and with the creatures’ best interests at heart. We’ve known for many years that we are what we eat and also what we are able to absorb. By ensuring that the majority of the food that we are eating is organic – which will be shown by the Soil Association UK kite mark, we are ensuring that our food will not have been sprayed with glycophosphates which contain nanonecatides which kill the bees, as well as negatively impacting on the human race. There are many countries throughout the world who do not allow Roundup which is the most prevalent form of glycophosphates to be used on any of their crops. Many nations also refuse to allow GM crops and GM and seeds to be used. Over the last 10 years there has been an increase in the amount of rape seed and GMO crop that have been grown in the UK. This was said to be due to the fact that the EU where subsidising farmers to grow this crop. However, there has been a huge increase in the amount of people who were affected negatively by the rapeseed pollen. Especially children and the elderly and infirm are coming for allergy testing appointments and it is coming up with them having a huge allergy to rape seed pollen and rape seed oil which is in many foods. The main foods which will have rape seed in are: mayonnaise, salad cream, humus, guacamole, ready prepared coleslaw, potato salad. I’ve discovered that Sainsbury’s, Waitrose, Tesco and Asda’s organic humus contains only organic sunflower oil. Sainsbury’s and Waitrose also have a mayonnaise which has organic sunflower oil in. Waitrose also do lots of online organic products. Try the organic box systems. The Soil association usually carries a list of all those available in the UK. Here’s the link if you’d like to check what’s available in your area https://www.soilassociation.org. There are many different companies available depending on the area of the country that you are living in. Typically, they offer a fruit and veg box for a small family medium-sized or large family. It is usually possible to select only fruits and vegetables that you and your family enjoyed and there is normally an option for you to select your favourites. The beauty of this is that it is produce that comes only from the UK, is grown locally, has no air miles attached which is a healthy and economical way of buying good quality organic fruit and veg. Some companies also sell organic fish, meat and dairy products. It’s worth shopping around to find the company that would deliver to you with the options that are most important to you and your family.According to the (EWG) Environmental Working Group 2017s report the `dirty dozen` that you should never eat unless they are organic are: strawberries, spinach, nectarines, apples, peaches, pears, cherries, celery, tomatoes, sweet bell peppers and potatoes. The top alkaline foods are Swiss chard, all kinds of melon, buckwheat, olive oil, flaxseed, avocado, ripe bananas, carrots, garlic, broccoli, grapes, pineapple, alfalfa sprouts, lemons, sauerkraut, cauliflower, grapefruit, seaweed and all sea vegetables, quinoa, cucumber, parsley, mango, and oranges. By ensuring that the alkaline foods you are eating are also organic can double the benefits for you and your family. Take a look at their website. https://www.ewg.org By avoiding dehydrators such as alcohol, black tea and caffeine our bodies can remain much more hydrated and balanced. People who drink a lot of caffeine have thought that by drinking coffee they are keeping themselves alert and energised. The truth is that every time we drink coffee we are dehydrating and demineralising ourselves. I have been told by people that they cannot get past 3 o’clock in the afternoon unless they drink another coffee. I have challenged them to increase their water intake and vary the temperature for three weeks. I’ve also asked them to reduce how much caffeine they are having daily. Just one cup less per day can make a significant difference when increasing your daily intake of good quality water. The strategy I recommended is to get a glass bottle as plastic bottles are contentious if exposed to sunlight. What happens with this is that the plastic when heated tries to return back to its original format which is a plastic sheet. This causes phytoestrogens to bleed into the water and these phytoestrogens are carcinogenic. By using a glass bottle that is at least 1.5 litres you have an accurate measurement of how much good quality water you are drinking daily, especially whilst you are at work. It is sometimes difficult to judge how many glasses of water you’ve had throughout the day, so by using this method you have a measurement so that you can add more if necessary. Here are some of the conditions that have been shown through research to benefit from a balanced increase of water: Angina – water shortage in the heart and lung axisArthritis -dehydration in the joint cavitiesAsthma- drought management programmes in the bodyAutoimmune diseasesBack pain – water shortages in the spinal column and discsColitis -water shortage in the large gutDiabetes -some cells getting only survival rations of waterHeartburn – water shortage in the upper gastrointestinal tractHigh blood cholesterol -early drought management by the bodyHigh blood pressure -lack of water to fill blood vessels that defuse water into vital cellsMigraines -water shortage in the brain and eyesPain -the body is unable to release the pain from muscular aches and pains. Some easy tips for drinking more water are:Start the day with a glass of warm waterKeep a glass of water near you and sip it off and throughout the dayWhen you feel thirsty drink water firstWhen you are hungry drink water first and if you still feel hungry a short time later eat some sensible food. Every time you have a stimulant such as tea, coffee or alcohol, follow it with a glass of water preferably warm. Experiment with drinking warm water instead of tea or coffee. There are many benefits to eating raw food and juicing. Many people have seen significant weight loss, huge increases in energy and vitality which help them to be motivated to do exercise, engage in races and to take up more lively activities. By eating raw none of the natural occurring vitamins, minerals and Omegas are reduced by cooking and refining thus the individual gains the optimum amount of energy from each food digested. Many people are adding juicing to their breakfast and daily healthy routine. There are a number of juicing machines on the market. The one I’m currently using is a Bullet as I find it easy to use and clean. By doing a little research you will be able to find the one that is most appropriate for you, that fits in with your budget and the amount of time you’ve got.I have recently discovered intermittent fasting which has many benefits for healing our bodies and minds. There are simple ways to do this – for instance you could eat your last meal at 6pm and then fast until 1 pm the next day. Or eat your last meal at lunchtime, set a fixed time and eat nothing until the following lunchtime. The less sugar you can consume on the carnivore diet the more you will build muscle and become leaner. Although we’ve been told for many years that meat and animal fat is not good for us. This simply isn’t true. Make sure the meat your eating is grass fed, outdoor raised, preferably organic as meat contains fat that help our hearts and brains to function effectively. Meat contains vitamins A, B6, B12, folic acid, magnesium, and the saturated fats actually protect the heart. Another strategy to balance blood sugar and stabilise weight is to eat a low GI diet. The principles behind this way of eating are to maintain energy throughout the day. Within this theory it is said to be important to eat little and often, to ensure blood sugar levels remain stable. It is vital to eat foods that release the sugar into the blood slowly which is called a low glycaemic food. If you also need to control your weight it is advisable to keep your saturated fats to a minimum but to ensure that you are getting plenty of good fats. The general principle is to eat small frequent meals, preferably containing some proteins. Within this system it is said to be imperative that the person eats breakfast, avoids sugar and sugar containing foods, fruit juices are avoided and dried fruit intake kept to a minimum. High GI foods -which are the ones we need to avoid as much as possible are: glucose, pineapple, parsnips, swede, rice cakes, cornflakes, sugar, bananas, baked potatoes, cooked carrots, rye Crisp breads, couscous, instant oats cereal, honey, raisins, mashed potatoes, squash, white bread, and breadsticks.Foods that can heal, means consuming more whole foods including at least five portions of fruit and vegetables, nuts and seeds with adequate essential fatty acids, proteins and plenty of water. Eat slow releasing carbohydrates, fruit, vegetables and all oily fish. Use snacks to balance blood sugar levels for example oatcakes, nuts, seeds, fruit. By ensuring that your blood sugar levels are balanced there is less chance that low blood sugar levels will force you into eating junk food which is essentially unhealthy for you.Try this whenever you are preparing and cooking food. Imagine sprinkling Love in as the secret ingredient in the food. It really increases the taste and makes it higher vibrational food. Bless all food and drinks that you consume and give gratitude for everything that you eat and drink.Enjoy your Food ((*))Love and sparkling MerFaery blessings Annie x x x Share the love
